Wellbeing | Moral Education (Japanese Division)
Japanese primary and high schools place a strong emphasis on moral education, teaching values that promote good citizenship, respect for others, and responsibility. At SJIS, we believe in instilling these same values in our students.
Our moral education program aims to nurture the development of our students’ character and foster a sense of community within the school. We teach students to take responsibility for their actions, respect their peers and teachers, and appreciate diversity.
Our program also includes lessons on traditional Japanese values, such as ‘wa’ (harmony) and ‘omoiyari’ (empathy), which are woven into the fabric of Japanese society. These lessons give our students a deeper understanding and appreciation of Japanese culture and its values.

Instilling a strong moral foundation in our students, prepares them to become responsible, respectful, and compassionate individuals who will positively contribute to society. We’re proud to offer a comprehensive moral education program that aligns with our mission of educating the whole
