Entrance Ceremony – Welcome Y1 and Y9!
This week, we celebrated the entrance ceremonies for our new Year 1 and Year 7 students in the Japanese Division. Congratulations to our newest additions to the SJIS community.
Also, a warm welcome to our new teachers from Japan who have joined our Japanese Division. We’re absolutely thrilled to have you on board and can’t wait for the enriching collaboration ahead.
And a special shoutout to Tamara Sloper-Harding (OAM) a veteran of the Royal Australian Navy, a peacekeeper and an advocate for a village in East Timor for being our esteemed guest speaker at our ANZAC Day ceremony. Your inspiring words truly touched our hearts.

Name

The Sydney Japanese International School acknowledges the Garigal people as the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the lands on which our school is located. We pay our respects to their ancestors and descendants who continue cultural and spiritual connections to Country. We recognise that these lands have always been places of teaching, learning and storytelling. May the spirit of the Garigal people always be present with us under the shade of the beautiful trees across our campus, when we hear the sounds of nature and feel the sun and ocean breeze on our skin, and as we grow, play, learn and connect.
