Charity Fundraiser for WIRES
Today, WIRES (Australia’s largest wildlife rescue organization) visited our school for an all-school assembly and talked to the students about the activities they are involved in.
For over 35 years, WIRES has been rescuing and caring for Australian wildlife that are sick, injured, or orphaned. Their mission is to rehabilitate and return these animals to the wild, or to protect them, and they call for everyone’s cooperation in this endeavor.
At SJIS, whenever wildlife such as owls, possums, or snakes are found on school grounds, we have contacted WIRES to come to the school for removal or protection.
The students also held a charity fundraiser for WIRES and presented the funds (600 AUD as of today) to the WIRES representative today.

Name

The Sydney Japanese International School acknowledges the Garigal people as the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the lands on which our school is located. We pay our respects to their ancestors and descendants who continue cultural and spiritual connections to Country. We recognise that these lands have always been places of teaching, learning and storytelling. May the spirit of the Garigal people always be present with us under the shade of the beautiful trees across our campus, when we hear the sounds of nature and feel the sun and ocean breeze on our skin, and as we grow, play, learn and connect.
