Outstanding Results at the NSW State Championships
At last Friday’s school assembly, we proudly celebrated Mathias (Year 2) for his outstanding results in the NSW swimming competitions!
After competing in the IPSHA Swimming Carnival last term, he proceeded to the next level NSWCIS Primary Championships and he got 1st Place – 50m Freestyle, and then, he proceeded to the final competition, the NSW State Championships.
He competed in the 8years 50m Freestyle and placed 3rd in all of NSW!
Normally, swimmers who place 1st–3rd at this event have the opportunity to progress towards the Australian National Championships , however because Nationals are only for students aged 10 and over, he has officially reached the highest possible level a student his age can achieve in Australia.
We are incredibly proud of your hard work and the exceptional way you represented our school! Congratulations, Mathias! What an incredible effort!

Name

The Sydney Japanese International School acknowledges the Garigal people as the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the lands on which our school is located. We pay our respects to their ancestors and descendants who continue cultural and spiritual connections to Country. We recognise that these lands have always been places of teaching, learning and storytelling. May the spirit of the Garigal people always be present with us under the shade of the beautiful trees across our campus, when we hear the sounds of nature and feel the sun and ocean breeze on our skin, and as we grow, play, learn and connect.
