Settling into the new year!
We’re thrilled to see students settling into routines. This week, International Division students completed PAT assessments, which help teachers personalise learning and track growth. Our teachers have also begun professional development through The Primary Writing Project, focusing on evidence-based strategies to enhance writing instruction, alongside our ongoing commitment to Visible Learning. It’s shaping up to be an exciting year of growth and achievement at SJIS.
Our Year 6 students from the Japanese and International Divisions created stunning artworks themed “Peace starts in Sydney” before their graduation. These beautiful pieces symbolise the friendships they’ve built and cherished during their time at SJIS. What a wonderful way to celebrate their journey together!

Name

The Sydney Japanese International School acknowledges the Garigal people as the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the lands on which our school is located. We pay our respects to their ancestors and descendants who continue cultural and spiritual connections to Country. We recognise that these lands have always been places of teaching, learning and storytelling. May the spirit of the Garigal people always be present with us under the shade of the beautiful trees across our campus, when we hear the sounds of nature and feel the sun and ocean breeze on our skin, and as we grow, play, learn and connect.
